Here’s something bound to put a smile on your face.

Library Acts of Culture is the Knight Foundation’s follow up to it’s popular Random Acts of Culture series, which brought performers to malls, train stations and other public spaces. The program started in Miami and has expanded to eight new cities.

So far, the Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra has performed at the Fox Chase Library. Jazz trombonist Ernest Stuart & bassist Justin Sekelewski popped in at the Andorra Branch of the Free Library, and the Pasion Y Arte flamenco company performed traditional Spanish dance at the Kensington Branch.

Stop by your local library branch and you might just get the chance to see an impromtu performance by contemporary ballet company BalletX, actors from Lantern Theater Company, or choreographer Kate Watson-Wallace.

Check out videos of the performances over on the Knight Art Challenge’s Facebook page.
