Event: Community Forum for the Next Governor
March 18, 2014 Category: PeopleA coalition of over 60 Philadelphia nonprofits and advocacy groups have organized a forum, “Community Forum for the Next Governor,” to bring together the six candidates running for the Democratic nomination in the upcoming gubernatorial election. The forum will focus on key issues impacting Philadelphia, including healthcare, taxes, housing, education, immigration, prisons, and public assistance.
The main organizers behind the forum are Neighborhood Networks and the Philadelphia MoveOn Council. Most of the organizations involved are issue-based nonprofits, such as Ceasefire PA, Project HOME and Women’s Way.

“Whether it’s the unwillingness to recognize the freedom for everyone to marry the person they love, increasing cutbacks in public assistance benefits, or refusal to expand Medicaid, our community has been deeply affected by the policies coming out of Harrisburg and we have a tremendous stake in influencing the next administration.”
PhillyCAM will be running a live stream of the event. Registration is available here.
