Next Stop: Democracy! Calls for Artists to Create a Better Voting Experience

June 5, 2015 Category: Purpose

“Next Stop: Democracy!”, a new Philadelphia-based voter engagement project, is now accepting artist submissions. The project will work with over 50 of Philadelphia area artists to create original “Vote Here” signs to be installed around the city on election day, November 3.

The project looks to generate excitement and engagement through a city-wide art installation that reminds and directs Philadelphians where to vote.

So far, a handful of Philly’s more notable artists, including a number of street artists curated by StreetsDept.com, have been hired. In addition, Next Stop: Democracy! is looking to discover new and up-and-coming talent to create signs.

Interested artists are asked to submit their sign ideas to Next Stop: Democracy’s website here before midnight, Friday, June 19. All 25 winning artists will receive $250 toward creating their sign.

Next Stop: Democracy! is supported by the John S. And James L. Knight Foundation as part of the Knight Cities Challenge and is being executed by Here’s My Chance, a Philadelphia-based creative agency that builds good brands by design.
