Updated Feb. 1: Shauna Howard has been added to the panel.Hey, minority entrepreneurs — are you wondering what resources are available to you from the city and other agencies as you’re getting your business started?
We’ll help you out with that question and more. This Wednesday night, Generocity is co-presenting a panel on minorities and entrepreneurship with Tribe 12, an accelerator for those in the Jewish community.

- Archna Sahay, director of entrepreneurial investment at City of Philadelphia’s Department of Commerce
- Daniel Levin, special project manager at The Enterprise Center
- Brian Gralnick, director of the Center for Social Responsibility at the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia and vice chair of Generation Appreciation Philadelphia
- Shauna Howard, founder of Fierce Stitch and SCORE Philadelphia board member
(I’ll be moderating. Though I identify as neither a minority nor an entrepreneur, I’m excited to lead this conversation and relate it to some of the other topics we cover at Generocity — social enterprise, social justice, diversity and inclusion.)
All three panelists currently work with minority entrepreneurs or are entrepreneurs themselves. Expect us to tackle important questions such as, What are the unique challenges that minority entrepreneurs face in Philadelphia? What’s the first step that someone who’s brand new to the entrepreneurship space should take in launching their business? Is Philly, indeed, the best place to be a minority entrepreneur right now?
The event will take place at Industrious from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets cost $10 for the public and are free for participants in the Tribe 12 Fellowship and Three:12 Leadership Academy. Dinner is included.
