Snapchat Takeovers are back!

Carrie Leibrand of Abington Art Center in Jenkintown is taking over Technically Media’s Snapchat account this Saturday, Feb. 4, to share scenes from the center’s first “Weaving Public Threads” forums.

This one is titled “Politically Correct: Reflections on Public Conversation” — timely, as we Americans sink further into the political divide of a two-party system.

Here are the event’s speakers:

  • Damian Fernandez, Ph.D — Chancellor, Penn State University, Abington
  • Dorothy Johnson-Speight — Founder and executive director, Mothers-in-Charge
  • Rickie Sanders, Ph.D — Professor of geography and urban studies, Temple University
  • Robert Peagler — Designer and chief problem solver, Social Innovation Associates
  • Sarah Drury — Media artist and associate professor, Department of Film and Media Arts, Temple University
Check it out

Expect interviews with art center staff, panelist and audience members as well as a look at some of Abington’s classes happening earlier in the day.

According to Leibrand, Abington’s social media and marketing coordinator, the art center is in the midst of “planning new programs, exhibitions, and events with a focus on digital media, technology, and innovation.” We’re looking forward to following along.
