Back on My Feet wants you to #stopthesnooze and wake up to homelessness

The world as an alarm clock. Incredible. April 12, 2017 Category: MethodShort

The people most in need are also the people most often ignored, especially in the case of homelessness. It’s a battle every homelessness organization fights on a daily basis.

Back on My Feet (BoMF), the Philadelphia-founded nonprofit that uses running as a means of helping homeless individuals secure jobs and housing, fights that battle, too. They just tend to do it a bit earlier in the morning.

This spring, BoMF wants you to “run the sleep out of your eyes and take note of those around you” with its #stopthesnooze fundraiser. The campaign, which Philadelphia chapter executive director Cathryn Sanderson told us is designed to “drive action and visibility to the issue of homelessness” during National Volunteer Month, is asking folks to make a “530 commitment” by either making a $5.30 donation or joining one of the organization’s infamous 5:30 a.m. runs.

Clever, right? Find out more here.
