Vote to get these Philly panels focused on social impact at SXSW 2018

What talks do you want to see at SXSW 2018? (Photo via twiiter.com:sxsw) August 16, 2017 Category: EventFeaturedLongPurpose
Philly and its tech community has had a growing presence at the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) tech, music and culture conference in Austin.

Last year, even Mayor Jim Kenney showed his support by attending the conference and later touching on how “tech has to be part of the conversation,” and that goes for many of the issues surrounding the city. Well, our mayor is now up for two possible panels for the next SXSW festival on March 9 to 18 of next year, and both talks are focused on social impact from the tech and entrepreneurship perspectives. If you want those panels to happen, you can start voting for them till Aug. 25 at the SXSW PanelPicker page here.

(For a full list of the Philly tech panels, many of them featuring social impact elements, check out this rundown from our sister site Technical.ly Philly.)

Beyond those two — one of which would be organized by the City of Philadelphia — there are many more Philly-centric panels to vote for. Some of them feature folks we know well, and a lot of them are focused on social impact.

Here are the panels we know of but with there being 4,159 panels currently up for selection, please do let us know if we missed any in the comments.
