Tech in the Commons: A Toolkit for Place-Based Nonprofits
What’s Next
You've read the Tech in the Commons toolkit. You're ready to put these social engagement tools to use. What are you waiting for?

The tools presented here — social media, data storytelling, live video, augmented and virtual reality — can be easily applied to your social engagement strategy, whether the end goal is to get more eyeballs to your web pages or more people through the door.

You challenge now is to actually do it.

If you don’t have a social engagement strategy, your organization isn’t getting on the radar of your target audience. Technologies change but these ideas remain: Keep an open mind about what’s coming around the bend. Start with some low-level tech for easy entry. Experiment with upgrades once you’ve gotten the hang of it. And have fun.

We want to hear your story. If you read through this toolkit and got inspiration — maybe it helped you with a challenge you were facing or got you excited about a new idea — tell us! Tweet us @generocity and use the #TechCommonsPHL hashtag. We might even feature you in an upcoming article on how the social impact community is changing.

We hope to see you in the commons.
