The Community Outreach & Administrative Coordinator will have a deep commitment to the mission of ARTZ Philadelphia, a non-profit organization that offers opportunities to enhance quality of life for people living with dementia and their care partners, through interactions around arts and culture. The person in this position will represent the organization in diverse communities throughout Greater Philadelphia and will work with the Executive Director to develop and implement initiatives that fulfill ARTZ Philadelphia’s mandates to engage and enliven, to build empathy and educate. The person who fills this role will take on both outreach and administrative responsibilities, and will therefore have the ability to envision the big picture and also feel satisfaction in attending to and managing the small details.

Job Description:

Outreach Coordination Responsibilities:

This position functions as the primary staff liaison to community- and stakeholder-driven projects; works with the Executive Director and community liaisons to guide projects in direct response to community input; manages, schedules, and coordinates programs and special events, including periodic exhibitions; oversees volunteer recruitment and trainings; and works with Board Outreach Committee and program facilitators to develop and expand volunteer program.

Administrative Responsibilities:

This position creates content for the Web site and newsletter in consultation with Executive Director; serves as Website manager (training provided); provides administrative support to Executive Director and Board in all areas, including developing grants calendar and tracking reporting requirements, special events, fundraising, and marketing and publicity.

  • Essential: Passion for working with people living with dementia and those who love them.


  • Prior experience with community-based, stakeholder-driven projects and programs.
  • Proven track record of successful project management.
  • Proficiency and high level of comfort with Google Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and familiarity with graphics programs (Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe, etc.), iCal and Google calendars, Eventbrite.
  • Extensive experience and high level of comfort administering and using MailChimp to create organizational communications and outreach.
  • Familiarity with and comfort using communications management software such as Slack.

Required: BA, BS, or BFA in social work, community-based arts programming, education, occupational therapy, art therapy, music therapy, or other relevant field; plus minimum three years experience.

  • Preferred: Masters degree in relevant field; experience planning and managing special events; grant-writing experience
