The Advancement Associate will be an important member of Girard’s Advancement team. Ensuring the smooth operation of the office; maintaining database systems; assisting with grants, foundations and special event logistics; and supporting administrative functions. 


The successful candidate will be self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented and accurate.  They will be able to work both independently and collaboratively. Exhibit project management skills and accountability in meeting deadlines and juggling multiple projects. 

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Some evenings, weekends required.




  • Demonstrates excellent writing, analytical, and communications skills.

  • Ensures timely completion of documents and outcomes.
  • Exhibits cultural awareness and appreciation for inclusion.


Database Maintenance and Updates

  • Ensures smooth operation by maintaining database systems.
  • Possesses advanced skills in Microsoft Office; Zoom and Google programs.
  • Shows ability to learn Girard specific software. 
  • Proficient in Raiser’s Edge and RE NXT database – minimum 1 year experience. 


Event Support

  • Supports mailing appeals and event activities, ensures stakeholders are thanked.
  • Assists in coordination for 175th Anniversary in 2023.  
  • Coordinates rental inquiries.


Operational Support

  • Schedules and coordinates meetings.
  • Maintains the calendar for the CAO.
  • Documents and transmits agendas and meeting notes.
  • Monitors advancement email account.
  • Participates in departmental meetings.
  • Supports other functions as assigned.
