Individual Giving Development Associate

As the Individual Giving Associate, you would be responsible for coordinating the organization’s individual giving priorities. Operating for more than 50 years, Clarifi’s philanthropic support has come primarily from institutional sources. To further diversify our revenue and ensure long term sustainability of our programs, we have placed more focus on individual giving – growing this source of revenue by more than 10% each year. The Development Associate will work closely with the Director of Development to increase this revenue by crafting individual giving campaigns, coordinating in-person fundraising and stewardship events, tracking individual donors using our databases, and coordinating major gift acquisition with the Development Team, Executive Director, and Board.

You Have:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in communications, development, or related field
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (B.A. in English and/or Communications a plus).
  • Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks and simultaneous projects.
  • Strong MS Office, database, and Internet skills.

Day to Day:

Individual Giving Coordination

  • Develop and deploy online, direct mail, and in-person fundraising campaigns
  • Strategize with internal and external stakeholders on individual giving activities
  • Track donor interactions within organization’s database and other internal trackers
  • Attend in-person, telephone, and online training and conferences relating to fundraising
  • Prepare fundraising performance reports and progress presentations.
  • Assist in prospect generation and research

Development and Communications Operations

  • Support data entry and data management of the donor database
  • Process incoming individual gifts and prepare acknowledgements
  • Assist in developing written and visual communications content

Event Support

  • Assist with the marketing and logistics for fundraising events.
  • Serve as a point of contact for event participants before and after their event day.

Other Duties

  • Assist with narratives and other written portions of agency initiatives, including government housing applications, agency accreditation, financials, and banking due-diligence projects
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other functions as assigned by the Director of Development.
