The Visitor Coordinator has overall responsibility for the recruitment, training, support, supervision and retention of 400+ volunteers who visit people incarcerated in federal and military prisons across the United States. Prisoner Visitation and Support (PVS), headquartered in Philadelphia, is a volunteer visitation program for federal and military prisoners throughout the United States. Our purpose is to provide people incarcerated with regular, face-to-face, contact from the world outside of prison to help them cope with prison life and prepare for a successful re-entry into society. Since 1968, with a small staff but a large cadre of committed volunteers, we have been independently and without agenda working to provide “a listening ear” to people who are incarcerated.
