The Research & Evaluation Group at Public Health Management Corporation (R&E Group) is seeking a Full-Time Interviewer to conduct survey data collection and reporting activities, while fostering strong working relationships between the project team and participants. R&E Group conducts applied research and evaluation, including work on program efficacy, intervention effectiveness, and needs assessments. The Interviewer will report to a Project Manager. The Interviewer will on small teams evaluating the outcomes for various grant-funded projects to improve the health related-outcomes of participants. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: obtaining informed consent for the program evaluations; tracking and maintaining contact with program participants; scheduling and administering follow-up interviews; database maintenance; entering data into the funder’s web-based portal; data cleaning; and data reporting. The position requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills and some knowledge of data collection and data management. This position requires a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to both local and surrounding research sites. Experience with interviewing or outreach and someone who is comfortable talking with individuals who have substance use disorder and experience with intellectual disabilities is preferred; experience managing and analyzing data is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison between evaluation and site staff.
  • Obtain informed consent for the program evaluations from program participants.
  • Administer structured interviews with program participants.
  • Collect and maintain database of program participant contact information in order to conduct follow-up interviews.
  • Locate and complete follow-up assessments with at least 80% of program participants.
  • Coordinate all data collection assessments, including follow-ups, via direct communication with participants.
  • Work closely with the evaluation and health center teams to plan and modify data collection procedures.
  • Enter data into the funder’s web-based portal on a weekly basis (or more often as needed).
  • Track, document and reconcile participant incentives.
  • Assist with data cleaning.
  • Attend and participate in all required trainings and meetings.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Experience:

At least one year professional work experience demonstrating qualities and skills necessary to handle the responsibilities listed above, including:

  • Familiarity with community-based health research or program evaluation
  • Interviewing and/or outreach experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with data entry and management, Excel, SPSS, and/or online survey tools (e.g., SurveyGizmo) preferred.
  • Experience working with populations with intellectual disabilities and/or substance use disorders a plus.

Education Requirement:

  • High school degree or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Salary:

  • Salary is commensurate with experience; starting salaries for full-time Interviewers begin in mid $30,000s.
