Reports to: Vice President, Direct Response

Position Overview

Reporting to the Vice President for Direct Response, the Senior Director of Client Accounts works in a leadership position within S&W’s Direct Response line of service. The Senior Director of Client Accounts is responsible for day-to-day client relationship and account management for a portfolio of key clients across sectors, and leads an account team which serves each client.

The Senior Director may work on-site at S&W headquarters in Philadelphia, although  hybrid/remote work options are possible.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Extensive experience in agency or nonprofit setting (preferably both)
  • A minimum of 7-10 years direct response fundraising experience with in-depth understanding of multi-channel direct response programs
  • Experience working with and for nonprofit organizations (membership programs and annual giving experience desired)
  • Knowledge of and relationships in the direct response fundraising industry
  • Substantial experience establishing and cultivating client relationships

 

Qualifications

  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills;
  • Relationship management/customer service mindset;
  • Seasoned presentation skills; comfortable presenting to internal teams and clients;
  • Able to serve as client advocate and internal expert for each account’s annual (and multi-year) goals and programs, including membership, annual fund, mid-level giving and planned giving programs;
  • Provide high-level strategic direction and planning for a range of nonprofit clients across a variety of sectors including healthcare, humanitarian and social justice, advocacy, environment and conservation, higher education, zoos and aquariums, and arts and culture;
  • Thoughtfully and effectively develop audience strategies for all client campaigns and cultivation efforts, across all channels;
  • Set short and long-term strategic goals in partnership with clients and account teams; document recommendations and communicate to clients;
  • Interpret data and use data to make actionable recommendations to inform annual program plans and revenue projections, and to manage and execute multi-channel direct response fundraising campaigns;
  • Provide thought leadership, staying informed regarding best practices and anticipating emerging trends in fundraising;
  • Work collaboratively with creative partners to guide creative process so that creative (copy and design) supports fundraising strategies; manage and educate team on creative execution ensuring alignment with strategy and fundraising best practices;
  • In collaboration with analytics and account teams, take the lead in providing and interpreting analysis to clients, including file-level reporting, campaign analysis, and other specialized strategic reporting;
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive environment and lead efforts to educate and mentor account teams based on experience and expertise in fundraising;
  • Foster a collegial work environment among account, production and data and analytics teams;
  • Work effectively with internal and external partners and vendors and foster positive and collaborative relationships that successfully promote S&W and its client base;
  • Actively and professionally promote S&W in the direct response industry through participation in conferences as attendee and presenter;
  • Actively participate in internal sales and marketing efforts for direct response, including identifying ideal potential clients, developing and following leads, drafting proposals and other sales materials, conducting sale presentations and closing sales.

Salary & Benefits

Salary Range: $80,000 – $110,000
