Inglis Community Services Names Paula Umaña as Executive Director
Philadelphia, PA — Inglis Community Services is proud to announce the appointment of Paula Umaña as its new Executive Director. A mission-driven leader with a deep commitment to equity and innovation, Paula brings a wealth of experience in nonprofit leadership, systems development, and community empowerment to her new role.
Paula is dedicated to advancing social and economic mobility through strategic innovation, partnership-building, and operational excellence. Her work has consistently focused on creating lasting impact for under-resourced communities and empowering individuals through inclusive, community-centered solutions.
Before joining Inglis, Paula served as Interim Chief Operating Officer at NJ211 and Managing Director of Community Resiliency at United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey. She was also the inaugural Director of Community Impact at Temple University’s Hope Center, where she led national coalition-building and developed transformative training programs.
A native of Bogotá, Colombia, Paula holds a Master’s in Adult and Organizational Development from Temple University and a Bachelor of Science from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. She launched Philadelphia’s first Hispanic Capacity Building Institute and led programming for the Center for Progressive Leadership in Pennsylvania. In addition to her professional work, Paula serves on multiple boards and enjoys hiking, mindfulness, and the arts.
Inglis Community Services—an entity of Inglis, a nonprofit organization supporting people with disabilities—provides a wide range of programs that promote independent, community living. Services include assistive technology, home modifications, supported employment, certified peer support, and more.
