Modern Action helps people follow the public decisions that are still open to influence.

The nonprofit civic technology platform connects an issue or news story to relevant federal bills, provisions and committee activity. It explains policy choices in plain language, brings together sourced records such as congressional votes, bill sponsorships and public positions, and lets each person decide what they think.

From there, a constituent can review an editable, bill-specific message to their U.S. senators and House representative. The accountability does not stop with sending a message. Modern Action is designed to help people compare what officials have done with what they are being asked to do next.

Based in Pittsburgh and serving people across the United States, Modern Action also publishes actionable news and issue briefings about upcoming votes, proposed rules, public-comment periods, oversight debates and legislative deadlines. The core action flow is free and does not require an account.
