Women of PABJ Presents: Annual Women’s History Month Brunch – A Celebration of Black Women in Media
Philadelphia, PA – March 2025 – The Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists (PABJ) proudly invites the community to an extraordinary gathering honoring the voices, visionaries, and trailblazers shaping the future of media. The Women of PABJ Annual Women’s History Month Brunch is not just an event, it’s a movement!
“Black women in media are the architects of our stories, the keepers of our culture, and the truth-tellers of our time. This brunch is not just a celebration, it’s a recognition of the power we hold when we amplify each other.” – Theresa Spencer, Board Secretary, PABJ
On Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM (doors open at 10:30 AM), Pipeline Philadelphia will transform into a space where excellence, sisterhood, and storytelling converge. As we continue to celebrate the impact of women in journalism and media, this year’s brunch will recognize three dynamic honorees whose work has transformed the industry:
• Shawnette Wilson – (Fox 29) Emmy-winning journalist and trusted voice in Philadelphia media.
• Erin Coleman – (NBC 10) Emmy-winning anchor, storyteller, and advocate for impactful journalism.
• Tamara P.O.C. Russell – (WURD Radio) Multimedia powerhouse amplifying Black stories and culture.
More Than a Brunch – A Celebration of Legacy and Leadership
This year’s theme is empowerment through storytelling—because when Black women in media thrive, our stories are told with depth, nuance, and authenticity. The event will feature:
• A Curated Brunch Experience – Catered by the renowned Details by Ms. Dawn, offering a taste of culinary excellence.
• Honoree Recognition – A powerful tribute to the women whose voices inform, challenge, and inspire.
• A Luxury Perfume-Making Experience – Hosted by Cabernet Candles, providing attendees with a unique, hands-on creative moment.
A Call to Elevate, Empower, and Engage
As the world of media continues to evolve, the Women of PABJ stand firm in their commitment to uplifting Black women who are shaping the narrative. This free event is an opportunity to connect, celebrate, and honor those making a lasting impact.
RSVP is required, and space is limited.
