Philly DoGooder Hackathon Kickoff Partnered Social Good Organizations with Filmmakers

Local social impact organizations and filmmakers filled the first floor of Impact Hub on Monday to kickoff the 2014 Philly doGooder Hackathon.
At the kickoff, members of 21 social impact organizations (both nonprofits and for-profits were encouraged to participate) were paired with 21 filmmakers to help them create a digital version of their organization’s compelling story of their mission to do good. After the teams were formed they were charged to come up with a storyline and next steps to make their visions become a reality.

Additionally, Dan Greene will be contributing musical composition and James Papa will be contributing screenwriting on various projects.
The teams now have until January 31st to craft a storyline, shoot, edit and complete the production.
The 2nd Annual doGooder Awards will be held on March 12th at University of the Arts Hamilton Hall with a screening of the winning films which will be determined by a public vote.
