logo (1)Calling all women who work in nonprofits: the Valentine Foundation wants you to develop leadership skills and is accepting applications for its Fund for Visionary Leadership through July 15.

“Our purpose is to grow a community of women leaders working to serve women and girls,” said Alexandra Frazier, the executive director of the Valentine Foundation.

“Anybody who wants to become a future woman leader in the nonprofit world should be applying for this,” she added.

Nonprofit organizations in Southeastern Pennsylvania that improve the lives of women and girls and have paid staff are encouraged to apply online.  Applicants can choose the leadership training of their choice — up to $6,000.

“You can come up with whatever program you want,” Frazier added, noting that some grantees attend Bryn Mawr College’s NELI Program or the Nonprofit Center at Lasalle University; others enroll in online courses.

“We really want to strengthen women nonprofit leaders in Philadelphia,” she said. Up to five grants totaling $25,000 will be awarded to area organizations.
