For Aspiring Female Philanthropists, Impact100 Philadelphia Offers 5 Fellowship Opportunities

To lend diversity and fresh perspectives to its all-women membership base, Impact100 Philadelphia, the collective-giving nonprofit, is sponsoring five $1,000 fellowships for women who want to join but don’t have the means to do so.

“It’s in line with our mission to be mentors, and to expand the group of women that we reach,” said Sue Dubow, a co-president of Impact100. “We want to reach someone who otherwise doesn’t have an opportunity to become a member.”

Impact100 offers grants to nonprofits and charitable initiatives much like a foundation. The difference is the all-women collective determines what they will fund through a collaborative process. The $1,000 annual membership donations go directly to the grants.

Women between the ages of 21 and 35 who live in the Greater Philadelphia region, including Camden, N.J., and who are interested in learning about philanthropy are encouraged to apply for a Founders Fellowship.  The online application process opens on August 15.

Women who receive the fellowships will each participate in one of Impact100’s five focus area committees, and have ample opportunities for learning and reflection over the course of the year.

“We’re hoping to get women of diverse backgrounds who have demonstrated their interest in philanthropy,” Dubow added. “We want to add their voices to our process.”

For more information, prospective applicants can email foundersfellowship@impact100philly.org.

Impact100 most recently gave $328,000 to five nonprofits in June.
