EVENT: What’s next for design in Philly?

August 20, 2015 Category: Method
“We’ve heard some big ideas about Philly hosting the 2024 Summer Olympic Games, redesigning our schools, Silicon Philly, the makerspace revolution, even a new Philly flag…What else awaits our great city?”

Fast Forward (not to be confused with the accelerator FastFWD) is an annual event of the DesignPhiladelphia festival.

Presenters from various creative backgrounds will give lightning talks, with 20 slides at 20 seconds each to answer the question: “What’s next for Philly?”

Hosted by AIA Philadelphia Associates Committee & Young Architects Forum, the event will also include time for conversations amongst the presenters and attendees.

Last year’s presenters included Jeffrey Barg from Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, Ryan Stewart  from Philadelphia School Redesign Initiative, and Emma Fried-Cassorla of Philly Love Notes. This year, the call is open for presenters until Monday, August 24. The event will take place on October 9 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Philadelphia Center for Architecture.
