Here’s what conference attendees learned at #SparkingSolutions2015

Were you at the Philanthropy Network’s Sparking Solutions Conference yesterday? We were, and we learned all about about impact investing, nonprofit capacity-building, inclusion and diversity, and more. (We also got a ton of future story ideas; stay tuned for those.)

The standout of the day was Dr. Manuel Pastor’s keynote speech. The University of Southern California professor and economist added entertaining yet powerful narrative to data about the evolving makeup of the country’s demographic and what it means for the underserved. “You can only step up if there’s a platform of public policy,” he said about the reality of becoming an American success story. The speech earned him a standing ovation.
