Scholly’s Christopher Gray on what it takes to be a social entrepreneur

From Oscars commercials to love from Oprah and Jesse Williams, there is no doubt college loan app Scholly founder Christopher Gray is the face of social entrepreneurship in Philadelphia.

As reported by sister site Technical.ly Philly, the Shark Tank alum was recently featured in the New York Times, giving out a number of tips for social entrepreneur wannabes.

The advice ranges from finding your motivation and market to leveraging your network. Up-and-coming social entrepreneurs might also be wise to understand their city’s strengths, the support organizations around them and the spectrum of funding options available to get them going.

“If a little boy from Birmingham, Ala., can go to college, pay for it and build a successful company before the age of 25,” said Gray, “so can you.”
