Energy retailer NRG’s philanthropic kick continues. (Get it? Kick? Sports? NRG provides energy for the Eagles? Ha.)
Last month, the company announced a new program that lets customers donate part of their bill to one of four local nonprofits.
And it’s been only six months since the organization announced its first NRG Gives campaign. You may recall that this past December, the public voted for Center City hunger nonprofit MANNA to receive the $100,000 prize over Callowhill’s Gift of Life Family House and Southwestern Pennsylvania’s Community Foundation for the Alleghenies.
Now, NRG Gives is back to offer another hundred grand to an area nonprofit. It’s crowdsourcing the winner again, which means if you like any of these three finalists, you should probably vote:

- Friends of the Wissahickon, the volunteer-run Chestnut Hill nonprofit that works with Parks and Rec to support and preserve Wissahickon Valley Park
Voting is open from now through Friday, May 19. The winner will be announced the following week. The two runners-up will receive $10,000 and $5,000, respectively.-30-
