The Philadelphia Foundation wants to hook up your nonprofit with free consulting help
March 19, 2018 Category: Featured, Funding, ShortThe Philadelphia Foundation is partnering with Catchafire to connect skilled volunteers to local nonprofits in need.
Now, any nonprofit can make a profile on the online database for volunteer gigs and request to get help from charitable professionals, either through a one-hour consultation call or for a longer-term project with tangible deliverables. Normally, Catchafire membership costs $2,000 per year.
The formal partnership follows a year-long pilot with Catchafire, which earned Philadelphia nonprofits over 5,000 hours of pro bono help in 2017. Chester County homelessness org Home of the Sparrow, for instance, was hooked up with a graphic designer for a print materials design project.
Some types of consulting help available through this partnership:
- Marketing
- Communications
- Web development
- Operations

“Philadelphia is fortunate to have talented consultants that work with nonprofits and we are pleased to continue to provide capacity building support in our grantmaking,” said Philadelphia Foundation President and CEO Pedro Ramos. “The Catchafire partnership broadens the number and types of nonprofits that can access high-quality consulting support as well as the types of expertise that can be made available to nonprofits.”
