CNN’s Michael Smerconish to keynote this 11th annual journalism unconference

August 21, 2019 Category: FeaturedPurposeShort
Once a year, we bring together journalism and media friends to check in on the status of the work we do. This fall, that conversation will have the tinge of a U.S. Presidential campaign.

Along with a day of discussions and case studies developed day-of, Technically Media’s 11th annual Klein News Innovation Camp will feature a lunchtime keynote fireside chat with Michael Smerconish, the CNN TV host, radio personality and longtime political (and sports) commentator.

Join us at Temple University’s Annenberg Hall on Sat. Nov. 16.

As always, thanks to our organizing partner the Klein College of Media and Communication, including Dean David Boardman. Renamed from Barcamp News Innovation in 2017 to Klein News Innovation Camp, this unconference is built by journalists for journalists. The day features conference sessions from newsroom leaders, from big brands to local ones to independent freelancers, who follow and spot trends in evolving news organizations. Like other unconferences, most of the programming is made on-site by the attendees to create an approachable environment.

In recent years, we’ve maintained a prestigious lunchtime keynote and a few pre-planned sessions to guide the day’s program. This fall’s day is intentionally one year before the 2020 election. The programming will range, but sure this will be a topic on many minds.
