Grab your tissue paper and scissors. Dust off your sugar skull molds and find your recipe for pan de muerto. Pop your copy of Coco in the Blu-ray player (or go to Netflix, which has both the English- and Spanish-language versions of the movie).

The Mexican celebration of Day of the Dead traditionally takes place on Nov. 1 and Nov. 2, but preparations in Philadelphia start this week and don’t end until November 6!

The procession will depart from Southwark School and travel north along 9th Street to Christian Street. The procession will end on the steps of Fleisher’s Sanctuary. At Fleisher explore the elaborate altar installation designed by local artists with help from Fleisher students, browse wares created by local artisans, and enjoy special performances. 🌺 La procesión partirá de la escuela Southwark y viajará hacia el norte por la calle 9 hasta la calle Christian. La procesión terminará en los escalones del santuario de Fleisher.
