October 7, 2014 Category: FundingUncategorized

The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation is now accepting applications for a new grant contest, the Knight Cities Challenge, for civic innovators working on ideas to spur civic engagement, economic opportunity and attract talent. The submission period began October 1 and will run until November 14.

Philadelphia is one of 26 communities, where the foundation currently invests, that are eligible. The winners will share a $5 million grant.

An information session on the challenge will be held on October 14 during the DesignPhiladelphia Festival. Donna Frisby-Greenwood, the Knight Foundation’s local program director, will lead the session.
