Clean Air Council’s Greenfest Philly is turning 10 on September 13

August 19, 2015 Category: Purpose

The Clean Air Council’s Greenfest Philly, the largest environmental festival in the Philadelphia area, will host its 10th annual festival on September 13.

The festival has over 100 exhibitors and vendors and is a place to learn about living sustainably in Philadelphia while having fun.The event offers a wide variety of activities, including shopping for local green wares, great food, live music, live demonstrations, kid-friendly activities, and more. This year, My Milkcrate has partnered with Clean Air Council to provide Greenfest attendees a mobile app with information about Philly’s most sustainable exhibitors.

Also for the festival, Philly Swap and Greenfest have teamed up for a community swap that will be on-site at this year’s event. Items collected will include: gently used and clean clothing (men, women, children, baby), toys, and books.

In addition, local green businesses can apply to be a part of Greenfest’s Green Innovators Program, which serves as a springboard for sustainable projects that have developed into viable businesses and programs in Philadelphia. Past Green Innovators include Wash Cycle Laundry, Common Market, Philadelphia Seed Exchange, and Philly Cow Share.

The Green Innovators will have the opportunity to exhibit at Greenfest and have Greenfest Philly attendees vote for their favorite Green Innovator at the festival and online, and the winner will be announced on stage at the conclusion of Greenfest.

Greenfest Philly will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the historic Headhouse Square. More information is available at http://greenfestphilly.org/.
