The Mütter Museum, as a part of its Out4STEM program that creates a safe space for LGBTQ youth, hosted the Queer Masquerade, to reflect on identity topics as a group and to see how they affect everyone, particularly in the STEM field.

PhillyRising Collaborative hosted its 2014 conference at Temple, giving participants the chance to meet one-on-one with representatives from city agencies to address problems, ask questions, and submit service requests.

Lt. Governor Jim Cawley announced at press conference in October that the state of Pennsylvania will also contribute a $3.7 million grant to the Eastern Tower Community Center. A fundraiser was also held earlier in the month to raise money for the project.
