Julie Hancher is upping the city’s sustainability stakes.
As we reported a few weeks ago, the Green Philly Blog cofounder is hosting the first SustainPHL Awards, “a celebration of sustainability visionaries to unsung heroes making a difference in their communities,” this summer.
Local people and organizations can be nominated for categories such as Unsung Hero and People’s Choice, and should be working within issues relating to the environment, social impact or civic causes.
The winners will be selected by an advising committee made up of local sustainability leaders from organizations such as Forsei Consulting, Investors’ Circle, Sustainable Business Network and PennFuture.
Nominations are open now through Thursday, June 2. The event will take place on Thursday, Aug. 18, at WHYY.
