They are part of West Philadelphia Corridor Collaborative's effort to rebuild the commercial corridors impacted by the pandemic and damaged during this summer's protests.

The plan was introduced during a zoning meeting earlier this month, and the Women’s Opportunity Resource Center (WORC) may become one of the proposed hub's first tenants.

"If we care about health, education, crime reduction, economic growth, and the growth of our city as a whole then we need to care about the housing that makes these things possible," says guest columnist Corrine O’Connell of Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia.
