November 19, 2013 Category: PeopleUncategorized

WOMEN’S WAY, a grantmaking, education and advocacy organization for women in the Greater Philadelphia region, announced the hiring of Wendy Voet as its new executive director.

Voet has worked in public health for 20 years. Early in her career, she worked as a counselor for Planned Parenthood, a care-taker at Mother Theresa’s Home for the Destitute and Dying in Calcutta, and a Peace Corps volunteer in West Africa.

Voet also served in a number of executive positions, including a leading role in health and gender integration programs in East and Southern Africa and Haiti with the Johns Hopkins Programs in International Reproductive Health.

“Throughout my career, I have worked with a variety of domestic and international organizations focused on improving reproductive health and rights for women with the strong belief that women’s rights are human rights,” Voet said in a press release.

More recently, Voet was the Deputy Director for the Center for Public Health Initiatives at the University of Pennsylvania, where she managed staff and budgets and oversaw workshops, events and grantmaking.
