Event: A Conversation with Paolo Pezzotta at CityCoHo

November 7, 2014 Category: Uncategorized

Next Wednesday, November 12 at 6 p.m., the Sustainability Nexus is holding an event at CityCoHo as the first part of its Goldilocks Zone Speaker Series. The series will be an opportunity for thinkers and doers to reconsider, reexamine, and reimagine Philly’s future and the scales at which large problems facing our world can be solved.

Those who embrace disruptive ideas and want Philly to become a socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable community should attend.

At the event on November 12, the discussion will be focused around transportation infrastructure, using the revitalization of the Reading Viaduct in Callowhill as an example of the type of project that could be implemented in Philadelphia’s transportation system. At the event, Max Zahniser, co-founder of The Sustainability Nexus, will serve as moderator for the conversation as well as introduce key terms and frameworks for understanding Goldilocks Zone problem solving.

In addition, Paolo Pezzotta, managing director of Global-Scaled, Environmental-Infrastructure Management Systems (GEMS) at ITP, Inc. will be a guest speaker. He’s a transportation expert, economist, and former Penn Professor that will use the Viaduct as an example of how Philadelphians can use the built environment to produce economic growth, create jobs, and reduce the city’s high rate of poverty. The event will also focus on the socio-economic and environmental impacts of transportation infrastructure development.

Tickets and more information are available here.
