Quick Guides: Love Your Park This Week
May 4, 2015 Category: MethodNow in its fourth year, Fairmount Park Conservancy and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation will celebrate the Annual LOVE your Park Week, a week long celebration of Philadelphia’s parks, from May 9 to May 16.
The LOVE Your Park program is a partnership between Philadelphia Department of Parks & Recreation and the Fairmount Park Conservancy to steward and support neighborhood parks throughout Philadelphia. The two organizations work closely with neighborhood park friend groups to promote both the network of parks across the city and the work the friends groups do.
This year the week will feature nine days of service projects, performances, educational programs, family activities and more at over 100 parks throughout Philadelphia. Throughout the week, park friends groups will hold over 80 recreational, educational, and environmental events.
The week will kick off on May 9 with the annual LOVE Your Park Service Day. Volunteers can find a list of parks and their locations that are looking for volunteers on this map:

- Honoring Veterans at Stringer Square on May 9
- GenPhilly (PCA), Global Abilities Foundation, and the Fairmount Park Conservancy are holding on a discussion on accessibility of parks on May 12
- City in Bloom planting at JFK Plaza and Logan Square by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society on May 15
200th anniversary of the Fairmount Water Works on May 16-17
