Event: OpenAccessPHL June Convening

June 5, 2014 Category: PeopleUncategorized

OpenAccessPHL is an open-sourced, collaborative group that convenes once a month to discuss technology developments and internet-based tools so that Philadelphians can organize and network with other engaged citizens. They focus on a few key areas: open data, community participation, access and inclusion, and civic tech growth.

The meeting is open to the public and congregates individuals from all sectors who are interested in learning and sharing projects that are both civic-minded and entrepreneurial. The event is hosted by Jeff Friedman, Paul Wright, Yuriy Porytko and Sarah Johnson. The group convenes the first Friday of each month at 4 p.m.

This month’s speakers include:

  • Youngmoo Kim – Director of the Expressive and Creative Interaction Technologies (ExCITe) Center
  • Matthew Fritch – Philadelphia Water Department, GreenSTEM Network
