Event: First Love Park Public Meeting on December 10

December 5, 2014 Category: Uncategorized

Want to learn more about the redesign of JFK Plaza/Love Park? The first of two pre-design public meetings about the project is happening on December 10 at 6:00 p.m. at the Free Library of Philadelphia at 1901 Vine Street. The second public meeting will happen in the 3rd or 4th week of January.

The meeting’s purpose is “to seek input on what the public would like to see in a redesigned LOVE Park,” said Mark Focht, the project manager for the redesign, in an email.

Parks & Recreation, the Fairmount Park Conservancy and PennPraxis will present the progress of the project so far and show examples of similar parks around the US. Attendees will then be asked to provide responses to several questions.

Input gathered at this meeting will be shared with Hargreaves Associates, the design team which has been selected to work on the project.

Pre-register for the free event at http://pennpraxis.ticketleap.com/love-park/.

In addition, the project will continue to collect comments via social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram using #newlovepark) and via email praxis@design.upenn.edu, and everything collected and shared on the website,  www.planphilly.com/lovepark.  Ideas will be collected through the end of December so that the team can begin to compile the recommendations in January.
