UAC to Offer Social Media Workshops Through New Coalition U Initiative
January 21, 2014 Category: Method
Urban Affairs Coalition will be launching a new initiative called Coalition U on January 31. The program is designed to help nonprofits strengthen their infrastructure, build capacity and maximize community impact.
Over the course of the next several weeks four workshops will be held all addressing social media best practices. An interactive panel and discussion will be lead by moderator Loraine Ballard Morrill, the news and community affairs director at Clear Channel Media + Entertainment. The panel will also include Mike Kaiser, our editor here at Generocity.org.
The workshop will cover both how to engage social media audiences as well as how to maximize a nonprofit’s reach. The workshops will be held at Wells Fargo at 123 S. Broad Street in the 5th Fl. Board Room. The workshop is free for UAC program partners, $20 for the general public. Registration is required.
The Coalition U series will host two additional workshops on social media on February 7. In addition, Urban Affairs Coalition will host a meetup as a follow-up to “Social Media Best Practices” on February 19. Attendees will be able to share their progress, get feedback and learn more social media best practice tips. Organizations can attend the meetup in person at the Urban Affairs Coalition KEYSPOT at 1207 Chestnut St. or join the webinar.
