Community Greening Made Easier with Microgrants From Keep Philadelphia Beautiful

Keep Philadelphia Beautiful recently released a set of guidelines for how to improve communities through cleaning and greening. Now the organization is offering microgrants to community-based organizations to help them put this advice to good use.
“Proposals will be evaluated primarily on impact, innovation, feasibility, and sustainability, and three grants will be awarded (two $1000 grants, and one $500 grant),” wrote Michelle Feldman, director of Keep Philadelphia Beautiful, in an email.
Other factors include how well the project can scale and whether the it leverages community partners. The money can go toward creating new litter abatement programs or improving an existing one.
How far can $500 and $1000 grants go toward cleaning a community?
Feldman told Generocity.org that projects will be small, but the goal is to help seed projects live past the grant period.
Keep Philadelphia Beautiful is an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, a national nonprofit engaged in community development.
