The New York Time’s Annual Giving Section is Now Available

November 27, 2013 Category: FundingUncategorized

Serving as a yearly report on philanthropy across the nation, The New York Times annual Giving section reviews current trends and discussions around philanthropy. It includes stories on private and corporate foundations, charitable institutions and individual recipients of generosity.

The opening story for the series, “Precious Eyes,” is a feature on guide dog training schools, detailing their importance (and the importance of those who volunteer for them) as well as their struggle to find corporate funding, just like many other nonprofits.

Other stories include a resource on “How to Choose a Charity Wisely,”  a short piece on gleaning (gathering edible produce left behind in fields after harvest) entitled “The Produce Isn’t Pretty, but It’s Edible,” and an interview with Dan Pallotta.

The online section also includes a link to a compiled list of articles from past years written about philanthropy in the NY Times Money Guide on Philanthropy.
