This study says giving will rise 2.6% in 2016

Ugh — millennials, right?

Say what you will about the generation, but a new study from Atlas of Giving projects a 2.6 percent increase in charitable giving in 2016 to total $489.8 billion, and according to the Chronicle of Philanthropy, fundraising campaigns that target individual millennial donors could increase that amount even more.

A 2.6 percent is a big increase when we’re talking about dollars on this scale — but keep in mind, this study that was published just a few weeks ago placed their projection at 4.1 percent.

Also, note that Atlas of Giving told the Chronicle that these projects are subject to change monthly. But for now — yay.
